Smooth blending and highlighting theory / Drew Drescher – $20:
Time: 9 am – 11 am Room 1
Smooth blending and highlighting theory. Chibi miniatures will be utilized due to their large, flat volumes and expressive faces. The Chibi miniature is yours to keep.
Painting with Retarder / Adam Huenecke – $20:
Time: 9 am – 11 am Room 2
Learn to blend your acrylic paints easily and painlessly using Acrylic Retarder. From realistic flesh tones to object source lighting, Acrylic retarder can help you level your painting ability up immediately. A small bottle of retarder is included in the cost, but paints and brushes are not.
Basic Painting Class / Shoshie Bauer – $20:
Time: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Room 1
In this class you will be painting a table ready model using basic painting techniques. The class will be giving a model and guide through each step of painting it. Please bring brushes, preferably size 1 and 2.
Painting Realistic Faces and Skin Tones / Adam Huenecke – $20:
Time: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Room 2
Smooth transitions through the use of retarder. From eyes to contours, this course will cover everything you need to paint gorgeous faces.
Painting Skin Tones with Verdaccio Underpainting / Shoshie Bauer – $20:
Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Room 1
How to paint realistic skin tones using Fine Art Techniques of underpainting and glazing. Learn how and why this method works so you can apply it to your own figures.
Layering for Smoothness /Sam Lenz – $20:
Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Room 2
In this class students will learn how to apply a smooth gradient of color. Insight to contrast, zenithal highlighting, and dilution paint will be the topics.
Basing with Shoshie / Shoshie Bauer – $25:
Time: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm Room 1
Shoshie teaches how to create a scratch built base for your model using materials found in everyday items, bits and get creative unique environment ideas. Materials will be provided. Suitable for all ages.
Wet Blending / Sam Lenz – $20:
Time: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm Room 2
In this class students will learn to lose the fear of wet in wet painting. Learn the techniques required to create quick blends and generally speed up on creating a better paint job.
Lose the Fear of Green Stuff Classes / Joe Orteza – $45:
Time: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Room 1
Students will be receiving green stuff to use in their classes. Students will take home: (3) hand-picked metal sculpting tools, (1) tweezer, (1) pen, (1) glass sculpting surface and an instructional pamphlet as part of the course. Joe will demonstrate some new techniques exclusive to the class
Time: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Room 2
In this class students will learn techniques on composition, insight into source materials, scenery building, and presenting a more cinematic feel. I will build a base as I explain and also present pieces from my collection as examples.
Lose the Fear of Green Stuff Classes / Joe Orteza – $45:
Time: 9:30 pm – 11:30 pm Room 1
Students will be receiving green stuff to use in their classes. Students will take home: (3) hand-picked metal sculpting tools, (1) tweezer, (1) pen, (1) glass sculpting surface and an instructional pamphlet as part of the course. Joe will demonstrate some new techniques exclusive to the class
Shoshie paints custom painted miniatures for gaming and collecting. Inquire on commissions via private message. Shoshie received her BA in Studio-art and has painted professional watercolors prior to switching to miniatures full time in 2013 . In 2013 she received her Reaper Bones 1 Kickstarter rewards which jumpstarted her obsession with miniature painting into a full time career. She was further encouraged when she won awards at Privateer Press’s P3 Grandmaster Painting competition and Best in Show at Con on the Cob in 2014. Since then she has placed with several competitions with medals and in 2016 won her first Gold medal at Reapercon. . She has taken classes from Rhonda Bender, Lyn Stahl, Kirill Zharnov, Caleb Wissenbeck, Joe Orteza, Elizabeth Beckley, Michael Proctor, Aaron Lovejoy, Michael Proctor, Kirill Kanaev, Ben Komets, Matt Cexwish, Angel Giraldes, Marike Reimer, Matt DiPietro, Patrick Kieth, David Diamondstone and Alfonso Giraldez. Drew Drescher
Drew has painted competitively for over a decade and has won numerous awards including six Golden Demons, five Crystal Brushes, and a P3 Grand Master trophy in addition to various local and regional titles. Outside of his regular 9-5, Drew works as a studio painter for Ninja Division Publishing, the maker of Super Dungeon Explore, Ninja All Stars, and Relic Knights.
